[PHOCAMAPS BUG] Re: Marker is moving with zoom

Post by mseelig »

Hi BigD,

I found the problem! All the offset settings for the user defined Icons are wrong. They are all set to the lower left image corner of the image. Therefore, if you zoom out, the image shifts to the right site from its origin.
This is a bug and should be resolved by phoca!

I dont want to fix each Icon, but as example lets take the Green Arrow Image.

1. Open the file:
yoursitename/administrator/components/com_phocamaps/helpers/phocamapsicon.php

2. Scroll to the igreen Image (which has a wrong remark "home icon")

// Icon Home
$i[4]['name'] = 'igreen';
$i[4]['size'] = '26,26';
$i[4]['point1'] = '0,0';
$i[4]['point2'] = '0,26';
$i[4]['sizes'] = '39,26';
$i[4]['point1s']= '0,0';
$i[4]['point2s']= '0,30';

3. Change the values for the offset of icon image and shadow image which is defined by point2 and point2s:

// Icon Home
$i[4]['name'] = 'igreen';
$i[4]['size'] = '26,26';
$i[4]['point1'] = '0,0';
$i[4]['point2'] = '13,26';
$i[4]['sizes'] = '39,26';
$i[4]['point1s']= '0,0';
$i[4]['point2s']= '0,26';

4. Configure your marker to show the green Icon, and you will see, thats it!

Instead of the lower left corner (Left offset = 0, top offset = 26) we defined the middle of the image bottom (Left offset =13, top offset = 26)

The goolge maps code example for custom markers which I found on google's official coding homepage, is using a flag icon, where the left bottom corner is used to show the place, because they have a a image where the left bottom corner is like an arrow, could be that this code was just copied from there:

You can copy the following code into notepad and save it as testmap.html. Double click the file and you will see what I mean.

Code: Select all

Hey Michael, you are a star.

Worked like a dream.

Thank you very, very much.

I hope that the developers follow your lead and fix this.

Cheers

Hi BD,

your welcome! I wrote an email to the developers and they already responsed, so I think they will fix this issue. Another solution is, to create your own icon definition in the phoca component backend which points to your desired images and set the right offset there.

Regards,
Michael
