opening pdf in new window

Hi there,

I am using PhocaDownload, and for certain files I would like the link to open in new window rather than download. While others I would like to download.

What is the way to achieve this?

Hi, depends on your language, you can find the file in language folder of your Joomla!

The English one is located at:

JoomlaRoot/language/en-GB/en-GB.com_phocadownload.ini

There you can search for the "Preview"-string and change it to your needs.

many thanks for the reply...yes my language is english.

I made the changes to the file (there are a lot of "previews" so i changed all to "open")

yet it hasn't affected the site.

The second thing I need help in is, once clicked, I would like it to open in separate tab. Can someone help me with this?

You have to edit only one line (453):

COM_PHOCADOWNLOAD_PREVIEW="Preview" to COM_PHOCADOWNLOAD_PREVIEW="Open"

If you have enabled the caching feature of Joomla it can take some time before you see the changes.
Also try to clear your browser cache.

About the new tab:
In the options dialog you can set up the preview feature to open a popup window.
Maybe this would fit your needs.
