How to use folder

Hi,
how do i use the button folder ?
After installing the component there is a folder (map) in images:
phocagallery (777).
There are no subfolders. So i thought, while creating a new category with the button i can create a corresponding folder. however, after pressing this button i get a small screen saying there is nof folder. Even if i fill in one and try to save the new categorie there is an error "Error saving Phoca Gallery Categories" without any reference to an error table.
Can some-one help me.
