creating thumbnails doesnt work anymore

Sorry to re-open this issue, but I have the same problem with Phoca Gallery 2.7.8 and no answer.

I have a site with many images on it. Many categories which all have proper thumbnails, except for one.
The images in this catagory were removed and then the files were renamed to better names.
The files were uploaded again and added to the catagory with 'multiple add' (like I always do).
But there are no thumbnails created.

The screen is just stuck at the message 'Stop thumbnail creation'.
I need to disable thumbnail creation in the parameters to even be able to view the category.
In the front-end, the thumbnails are missing, in the backend too.
The 'thumbs' directory on the server contains 895 files, all of them are correct thumbnails. But for the files in this particular category there are no thumbs.
The name of the category has not changed, and the 'old' images had proper thumbs.

What is wrong?

Hi, did you enable php error reporting and debum mode, to see if there is some php error?

Problem is solved.

The error message mentioned that it was running out of memory.
Thank you Jan for the tips.

With this information I realized that I forgot to resize the photo's before uploading.
They were upped in full resolution 3500x2000 px.
Phoca simply choked on the size of the photo's.
I resized them all to 800x533 and all was fine.
