install of mod_phoca fails

hi,

when i try to install the mod_phoca 1.8.6 on a native joomla 1.5.3 i always get this error:

Komponente Installieren: DB function failed with error number 2006
MySQL server has gone away SQL=INSERT INTO jos_components VALUES( "", 'Phoca Gallery', 'option=com_phocagallery', 0, 0, 'option=com_phocagallery', 'Phoca Gallery', 'com_phocagallery', 0, 'components/com_phocagallery/assets/images/icon-16-menu.png', 0, '', 1 )

INSERT INTO jos_components - you have some problem with Joomla! installation framework, maybe some problem with connecting the database

ok, i reinstalled joomla, no probs, but......
same error when i try to install the component
is it right, that the instal.sql in the package is empty?

the install.sql file is empty, because data and database structure will be installed per PHP (because upgrading system, after installing component), you can find the installation SQL query in install.bak file... this have no influence on the installation of the component

hi jan,

thank a lot for your support, i finally solved the problem.
i'm using a kasserver and the administration of the user and file permission is worse (web-interface). so i disabled the ftp-function in the global settings of my joomla and "played" a bit with the user-pemission interface of the server and finally it workted!!!!

ok, ok, now an other prob....
when i open the gallery-view i see the following errors:

haste vielleicht grad noch nen tip wie ich das mit den wasserzeichen in einem unterordner hinbekomme????
im stammverzeichnis hat es auf anhieb funktioniert, nur in dem unterordner nicht?! ich habe bereits auch schon die thumbs gelÄ‚Å›scht....
