JCK Editor conflict and uninstall/reinstall issues

Post by bjornkock »

Strange things happening here..........
Running Joomla 1.7 with Gantry framework 3.2.8. Installed PhocaPDF Com_2.0.1and PLG_2.0.3. Figured out how to modify code to get work with Gantry template files. All worked like a charm.
Created article with TinyMCE Editor. Displayed correctly on front-end, pdf-link button opened pop-up, which also displayed correctly.
Installed latest version of JCKEditor 3.4.7 beta2. Made it default editor. Created article. Page displayed fine. Pdf-link displayed header correctly but otherwise just blank body content. Disabled JCK Editor. No change. Uninstalled JCK Editor. No change. Created new page with TinyMCE Editor. No change.
Disabled Phoca (com & plg). Uninstalled both. Error message regarding "cannot find/uninstall content.xml". Tried reinstalling bot com & plg. Another error message. Plugin installed, but component failed. Tried uninstalling again. Received another error Image
Now I two instances of com_phocapdf showing. I have removed any files I could find that would have left over during uninstall, but no luck.
I really love your product, but the fact that it is rendered useless by my editor of choice worries me, and that I can't properly uninstall it and re-install it is frustrating. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

1) Problem with installing or uninstalling - this is more a forum.joomla.org question than Phoca, I for now does not have any answer for uninstalling problems in Joomla! :-(

2) Editor - some of editors produces very confusing characters between <p> </p> tags (while creating a space) Phoca PDF tries to correct it but maybe there are other problems  maybe other wrong characters :-(
