hy guys,

when i add multiple images to a categorie thumbnails get created. but if i do so, the progress is not shown. therefore i dont know if it works or not.

here is a little screenshot:

this occured first time with version 1.8.3 (i think) so i uninstalled the old version and installed the new one fresh. the failure still occures.

i hope you can help me. the only way i can see if there is progress ist to look into the ftp folder, what is quite a provisorily solution

edit:
so i just looked into the thumbs folder and now i had to find out, that the thumbnail creator stopped after creating the small and medium image of the first pic. so i have to say: the multiple add does not work any more for me...

If you get only the red link to stop, it means that you got the error message from your PHP (mostly from your GD library - that it cannot create a thumbnail), but maybe your error reporting in php is set to not displaying, so the error is not displayed, if you can enable the error reporting to see the error...

i think the error reporting is enabled, see this pic:

the failure occures because the large thumbnail wasnt created only the small and the medium one.

could it be, that i have to change something in the .htaccess of the joomla installation? at the moment it is name htaccess.txt but the failure also occures when i rename it into .htaccess

i also tried to change the Urls to standard and optimized for search engines...

i really dont have any clue how this should work...

edit: but when the error reporting is enabled, why doesnt it show the error in the backend??

oh yeahhhhh crazy

i just found out the failure. the folders under help - system info - directory permissions havent been writable!!

this probably caused some crashes during installation that have not been displayed. now i made those folders writable and reinstalled phoca gallery.
now everything works great!!!

many thanks to me - who solved the problem on his own, what took approximately 3 days -->

always those stupid mistakes...

maybe on your webserver ist the "save mode" enabled. i read a thread about that already on the web, that this could cause such a problem.

have the folders been writable before installing the gallery? if no - try to uninstall the gallery and reinstall it
