Clicking on a gallery just refreshes thumbnail image

Hi everyone,

This looks like a great and very powerful component, but I think I need some help in getting it working properly.

I installed the component in J1.5.3 without any problems. I wanted to test it out, so I did a couple of things without changing any parameters - I created 2 categories (Category 1 and Category 2) and I put 5 images in each. This seemed to all go well, and I see the images in the backend, in their respective categories, and with the correct names etc. When I click the thumbnail image in the backend, the lightbox comes up and shows the relevant image. Very nice.

But then I created a menu item, using the Phoca Gallery Category List Layout type. I refreshed my page (front-end) and the menu item appeared, I clicked on it and the Category 1 and Category 2 were there. It looked good. Then I clicked on Category 1 - the page simply refreshed, showing the same 2 categories, but with the thumbnail changed to another picture from within that category.

I think I've read the manual ok but maybe I'm missing something - please can someone help as I am tearing my hair out here after now spending hours on this!

Hi, the other image is displaying because of random image displaying in the category item.

The problem is, that if you click on category, you should see the images within the category, please let me know your site to see the URLs

I'm sorry, but I can't give you my URL, it has to be kept under wraps for now.

Maybe more information would help though? I'm thinking perhaps it is an SEF url problem. My gallery menu item links to example.com/1/category.html. This loads the page which shows my 2 categories - Category 1 and Category 2. When I click on Category 1, it loads what looks like exactly the same page, with the address example.com/1-category-1/category.html, when I click the thumbnail for Category 2 it loads the page example.com/2-category-2/category.html.

I've had a look through the forum but can't find anyone with a similar problem

If you use 1.8.7, try to disable the html from SEF (I have added new SEF behaviour in 1.8.7, maybe it still have problems with the html), I will take a look at it, Jan

Try to replace the attached file:

Copy router.php from router.zip file to:
components/com_phocagallery folder

That didn't seem to make any difference Jan. I'm going to play around with it and the SEF's over the weekend, so I'll hopefully post a message of success on Monday! Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.
