KLM file will not load in Joomla 1.5

Hi,

I am using Phoca Maps version 1.1.1 in Joomla version 1.5.25 with the Phoca Maps plugin 1.1.0. I have the tool configured and it is working for maps and markers, however I cannot get the KLM file to work. I have tried a number of files, and they have been added into the correct folder.

I created a simple hexagon shaped map in google maps and exported the klm file, I uploaded the file to the folder on the site and in the kml file parameter in my map I add "googlemap.kml" the name of my file. The latitute region for my map is -34.9 and the longitude is 138.6.

The plugin code I am adding to my article is { phocamaps view=map|id=1 } (without spaces) and I have tried a direct menu link - the map displays fine.

There is a forum thread where a fix was to change a file name segment to include capitals, I tried this and it didn't work.

I have also tried on a test site and with alternate templates.

Any other thoughts - I would really love to have this working for my client.

Also is the KML file data unviewable in IE?? I am using FF 8 for all of my work.

Thanks for the upgrade Jan, I see that the reason why editing the file name was looking like it wasn't working for me - it seems to be the kml file I am creating. I added markers to the file and it picked them up. However I am trying to add line markings to my map and the line markings are not being displayed in Phoca Maps. Is that correct or should line markings display?

I am testing creating google map files.

Hi, not sure which all methods geoXML is supporting.

Since version 2, there is no problem with lines:
https://www.phoca.cz/joomlademo/phoca-maps-kml

but really not sure if this is supported in geoXML

Hi Jan,

first I like to thank you for the great component!
Unfortunately I also have a problem to load a kml-file. Tracks and waypoints are not shown on the map. Have your version 1.1.2 on Joomla 1.5.26.
I loaded a gps-track and waypoints from my garmin via google earth and saved the data as a kml-file, which I uploaded in the phocamapskml directory of my website. Kml-file loading is enabled in settings - component and also in menu configuration.
Now I don´t know what to do else, to make it run or is there still a problem?

the kml-file works, when I upload it direkt in google maps, but its not displayed in the component. Checked all setting, but don´t know what else to do!
