Dear all, I am new in Phoca Download. Recently I use it for our non-profit organization.
I also have similar question about this topic and I realize that there is setting for -All registered users-
But how if I have several registered users with a different privileges for uploading.

For example:

Categories:
Class A
Class B

Access Level:
Class A Group
Class B Group

User:
Student A (belong to Class A Group)
Student B (belong to Class B Group)

Requirement #1:
Student A can only download from category Class A and student B can only download from category Class B.
Solution #1:
This is easy because I can set category Class A's access to Class A Group and set category Class B's access to Class B Group.

Requirement #2:
Student A class can only upload to category Class A and student B can only upload to category Class B
Solution #2:
Still got no solution.
My temporary solution is setting -All registered users- to Class A Group and Class B Group.
But actually it is only solution to protect registered access level for not uploading to category Class A and/or Class B.

Please help.
Thank you :)

At the moment there is no group support for this. So the only possibility is give upload rights to each student who is related to the category.

Follow my steps closely, u will achieve it
My requirement was like, i need students to be able to comment on blogs & forums, but cannot upload files.
But teachers should be able to comment & upload files.

You need to create a new user griup with new permisions for this.
steps
1. User manager->Groups->Add New Group
2. Create a new group (teacher) with group parent as public (save & close)
3. User manager->Access Levels->Add New Access Level
4. Create a new access level with title as staff & select teacher from User Groups Having Viewing Access

Next steps involves creating a new user under group teacher (comment & upload rights)
5. User manager->Add New User
6. Enter user details & select Registered & teacher under Assigned User Groups

Next steps involves creating a new student user (comment rights only)
7. User manager->Add New User
8. Enter user details & select Registered under Assigned User Groups

9. Components->Phoca Download->options (top right in cpanel there is an option button)
10. General Tab
set Access Level - Registered Users to staff ( accces level we had created recently)

Now login to the front end as registered user & try opening the phoca upload page, you will be getting a message - You are not authorized to do this action

Hope this helps!
:D :!: :wink:
