Hello,
I posted this already on soundforge but I'm without response to this issue.
fact is that even after hours of research on the internet: the filetypes of songs of band in a box are not registered as mime types and therefore I cannot upload/download all this types files here of this application Band in a Box:
mgu, sgu, mgu1, ...2, ...3, ...4, ...8, sgu1, ...2, ...3, ...4, ...8...and so on mgx, sgx.
May be that there Is there any dummy syntax to make accepting these files to phoca dwnload ?
I tried already all imaginable combinaisons of existing mime filetypes like 'midi, audio, octet-***' I don't know what all and nothing is working.
And if not possible to treat this in any way: why this is made complicated with mime types. Other programs asks only to allow file extension in this way: 'txt, mgu, mg1, pdf and so on ????
I hope that there is a solution, thank you for every contribution.
Regards
gho

Hi, it has to do with security, in such case you can make abc.txt which will be abc.exe e.g. this can be dangerous ...
Did you try e.g. video/x-mpegurl (mgu), sgu should be the midi, etc.
Or zipping the files can be used.

Hi Jan and thank you for support.
I tried everything and more ...nothing works, although there are variants of file extensions as mgu, mg2,mg8, mgx and even when as it is in my case sécurity is not so important, I cannot rename my file from abc.mg2 to abc.txt and to ask the user to rename the file back once downloaded, too complicated with these files (That's the way I understand your remark about txt file.)
I have to resign myself to zip each little file, winrar can do this e.g., but there are other issues. (some spécial characters in file names are not well taken over.)
What do yo think about a paramter as {€€€=dummy/unknown}, replacing €€€ by mgx in my case would allow to treat this kind of file, may be with less sécurity ?
In the mean time I have to zip the files.
Let me say that this is better than to have a component as jdownloads where the detection of folders/files is automatic too, but when there is a shared hosting as e.g. OVH in my case cannot afford the demandes of processiong. With 'multiple file add' as in phoca donwloads this is working really very nice and easily.
many thanks
