Component installed yet not working

Hi there,

I've just installed latest version of Phoca Download component.
yet after installing it using extension manager, i get the option to click on install or upgrade.
no matter what i pick i get blank white page.

component appears on components menu yet everything i pick there also gives me blank page.

tried installing using ftp, same results given.

I do not have access to php.ini so i cant edit it to show php errors, while i go on debug mode on joomla, no sql problems appear there.

I'm using joomla 1.6.3
