Problem installing Phoca Gallery 1.8.8

Hi,

I am trying to install Phoca Gallery on a new server and, on the category page I get :

And I cannot create any category

Sorry this problem is solved by myself. I´ve forgotten to press the big coloured Install button after uploading and installing the zip. But there is another one! See next post!

Hallo again,
I´ve installed the zip already, and it works well. But the installing of the german language zip does not work.
After upload and install following error appears:
# Fehler: Es konnte keine XML-Setupdatei in diesem Paket gefunden werden!
The two .ini files are copied in the administrator/language/de folder correctly . I´ve done the same like my located installation, but on the host server the german version doesn´t work.
Any idea?

Hi, the language pack should be installed manually, it means, you will copy it e.g. via FTP into the folders:

language/de-DE/
administrator/language/de-DE/

That's really strange,

I reinstalled the gallery, got a blank page they I refreshed and I got the yellow button.
and it works now.

Hello again,
thanks for reply.
I copied the de-de....zip into the administrator/language/de-de/ folder via ftp.
But how can I install it manual?
If I try to install it via J! with the directory button out of the directory:
/html/cms/administrator/language/de-DE/de-de.com_phocagallery.zip
the notice appear: Bitte geben Sie ein Paketverzeichnis ein!
What should I do?
How to install in manually?
I don´t no how extract the zip on the host server and install?

Hi,

unzip the package on your own pc and upload the .ini files to administrator/language/de-De and to language/de-De

i´ve done this, but that could not be all.
What is the next step?
The comments/terms still english.
I´m sure, it´s a tiny thing.

set the default language of your website to German, and it should be working. Refreshing is a good thing (or clearing a cache)
