Sub categories

Is is possible to make sub categories.
E.g. A map called "Europe" and under that several albums containing pictures from different cities.

I tried to create a new category and then choose a parent category, but it didn't work for me.

Hi,
If you mean Phoca Gallery Component, it's definitely possible to create subcategories.
1. Create a category (and name it for example "A"). Don't choose any parent category.
2. Create a second category (and name it for example "B"). Choose "A" as parent category.
3. "B" will be a subcategory from "A"

This is exactly what I did.
I already had category A, and wanted to create subcategory B with A as parent category.
I have tried several times and the first times the system said that there was trouble saving it, now I don't know whether it's saved or not, but it doesn't seem to appear anywhere.

Try to check e.g. with phpmyAdmin if the table jos_phocagallery_categories exist in your database.
