Phoca Download error: No rights to access this category

I am running Joomla 2.5.6 and installed the com_phocadownload_v2.1.6. When I try to view my listed downloads from a PUBLIC point of view, it gives me the message: "You have no rights to access this category".

I have checked my categories and their permissions. Where you are able to set the ACCESS RIGHTS for the category, there is no PUBLIC, is that what is causing this. I am really confused here. Phoca has always worked for me, my first hiccup.

hi, in ACCESS RIGHTS if you'd like to grant access to all users make sure there is no single user selected (Ctrl+Click to deselect).
also the access level must be set to a publicly accessible access level (as defined in joomla acl settings)

I'm sorry, I did not find any way to make visible the categories and file of the component. I created a menu item that goes to component. I selected the folder that should contain the files but nothing is displayed. no category no files.

why the access is allowed only to registered users? how can I give public access to all folders and files?

i am on joomla 1.5 and people have to be connected to download the file. I don't understand because all the files are set to public access.
