Translating data

Post by gulp »

Hello,
is there a way to translate the data I insert ?
I mean...if I create categories and then show it in frontend it will be a good thing if this will be translated for each language of the frontend.
Actually the way in Joomla 2.5 is to duplicate each element in Joomla (menu items, modules, articles...).
The way here I think cannot be the same, because the same files in the same category is used by every language...but the category name should be in language...

Hi, this work the same way as articles work - for each language you need new file. Or you can use some specific extension like joomfish etc.

Well, in new versions of Joomla (>2) you should not need to install Joomfish,
just the language system could be enough...no ?

Hi, as written above, you don't need to install Joomf!fish (there is multilanguage system but it works like described above, you should install other multilanguage system in case, the standard does not fit your needs)
