Hello,
my server supports file-upload up to 128M via htp. Unfortunately i have some files i would like to share who are bigger then that. So i would like to do an upload via FTP. Unfortunately that simply doesn't work, no matter what i tried. So i hope you can help me.
When i install phoca it creates two folders phocadownload and phocadownloadap. these folders are set as user apache and i can't send any chmod to them. when i use filezilla to upload i get error 550. i have no spaces in the filename and no special characters.
i am unable to activate ftp-layer on the joomla installation (writing in config file not allowed)
i would love to send you some screenshots, but i can't put them in here. ...
I am using the newest phocadownload
PHP linux server, database 5.5.20-cit, php-version 5.3.18
Webserver Apache,
Joomla 2.5.4
joomla platform 11.4.0.
So i hope you can help what i must do to make it work.
René

Re: FTP Upload impossible
Hi, see settings of your Joomla! (if ftp layer is enabled or not) Files and Folders are written by Joomla! methods and they get info from Joomla! settings (so if the permission or ownership is wrong, it needs to be set in Joomla! settings and newly installed - e.g. enable ftp layer in Joomla! and install the component - but first you need to delete the folders with some web based file manager because this will have the same ownership like the method which previously created the folders)

I know this is weird by reading your response...I like to think that your proof read that out loud and everytime you read "Joomla!" you screamed it out like the logo makes it seem like you are "suppose to".

Re: FTP Upload impossible
Hi, maybe this is teh problem, because you have no permission to write something on your server, to solve it, you need to contact your webhosting provider
