SearchPlugin is not working

Hallo and Happy New Yeat to all

after installing and working with Phocagallery I tried the SearchPlugin - but it is refusing to work. The "normal" search of Joomal is working correctly, but as soon as I activate Phoca-Search I always get empty pages. I also tried to enable PHP-Errors, but no errors are displayed. What could it be?
My system: Joomla 2.5.8, PHP 5.3.8, Phocagallery 3.1.5

It would be nice if anyone could help me.

Hi, blank page is mostly a php error, try to see errorLog on your server and try to check if displaying a php error is really working on your server

Thank you for your fast reply.
I turned on debugging and got this error-message:

Fatal error: Call to a member function registerEvent() on a non-object in .....\plugins\search\phocagallery\phocagallery.php on line 12

Can you tell me waht to do?

Hi, which version of Phoca Gallery search plugin you are using, I see no such code in latest version? Anyway update your gallery component to latest version.

ok, now I de- and reinstalled the complete Gallery. And I found the mistake (my mistake!): I used version 2.7.1 because I thought it is more compatible to Joomla 2.5.8 than the other version (there is a 1.6 written behind). Now I tried the 3.0.1 - and it works! Great!!! Thank you a lot - now I have the lastest gallery components, modules and so on and my visitors can search for pictures.
