Re: SEF & Module still not working
Hi, modules in Joomla don't have own Itemids, so try to create a link to Phoca Gallery (e.g. categories view) and the module should take this Itemid, if it has an Itemid, then the link should be correctly created...

Re: SEF & Module still not working
Hi Jan,
just wanted to tell you my experience here. I have a working installation of the latest Joomla 1.5.6, together with phocagallery 1.8.8, the phoca tree module and the phoca random module.
Today I switched on the built-in SEF of Joomla. All went fine, except phoca random module. It does show random thumbs, but when you click on them, the modal box shows a "ressource not found" page. Just like the poster that openend this thread.
Of course, I have menus to phoca gallery (2 of them), and these work fine. I tried to save the menu links again, with SEF on, but to no effect. Still no working links to the detail modal box.
Do you have a solution for this? I must let SEF on for the website.
Best regards,
birdie

Re: SEF & Module still not working
no idea, all links in Phoca Gallery are created by Joomla method JRoute which should convert the link to SEF link... if there is a menu link to the Phoca Gallery, then the module should take parameters from the menu link (itemid) and the link should by created by JRoute (but no idea why this is not working on some servers ... SEF is very unhappy solution )

Re: SEF & Module still not working
I encountred this problem in the 1.5.6 version.
I tried to delete any item of the menus but the problem still remain.
We could cooperate to do another module that do the same thing!?
Or we can just modify the Joomla!'s random image module and add to it the lightbox..
Support please support in someway!
Thanx

Re: SEF & Module still not working
Hi there,
I think I have a reason for what's causing the problem. I had the same problem as the others, but I noticed a slight difference...
The gallery items with ID=1 and ID=3 seemed to load fine on the random module but all other images and video links showed a "404 - Resource not found" problem.
I had a look at my category listing and there were two categories with ID=1 (photos) and ID=3 (videos). Both categories are on my main menu in Menu Manager (under Media > Photos and Media > Videos).
I tested it out and the images seemed to appear fine as long as there was a category with the same ID number.
So my guess is the Random Image module is confusing the gallery item ID with the category ID. It checks the menu link and uses that for the SEF URL, but in the process it seems to be mixing up the random image ItemID with category ID. And if there's not category, it uses the /component/phocagallery/for the URL, which doesn't seem to work.
Here are a few example URLs:
Gallery Item=1
Category=1 (Photo)
URL in Component: /media/photos/1-photos/detail/1-jhwp_01?tmpl=component (SUCCESS)
URL in Random Module: /media/photos/1-photos/detail/1-jhwp_01?tmpl=component&detail=0&buttons=1 (SUCCESS)
Gallery Item=2
Category=1 (Photo)
URL in Component: /media/photos/1-photos/detail/2-jhwp_05?tmpl=component (SUCCESS)
URL in Random Module: /component/phocagallery/1-photos/detail/2-jhwp_05?tmpl=component&detail=0&buttons=1 (FAIL)
Gallery Item=3
Category=1 (Photo)
URL in Component: /media/photos/1-photos/detail/3-jhwp_06?tmpl=component (SUCCESS)
URL in Random Module: /media/videos/1-photos/detail/3-jhwp_06?tmpl=component&detail=0&buttons=1 (SUCCESS, but note difference in URL - Random Module using the URL for the Video category's menu item??)
Gallery Item=6
Category=2 (Video)
URL in Component: /media/videos/3-video/detail/6-greyfilmreel?tmpl=component (SUCCESS)
URL in Random Module: /component/phocagallery/3-video/detail/6-greyfilmreel?tmpl=component&detail=0&buttons=1(FAIL)
I hope this information helps...

Re: SEF & Module still not working
Hi, Phoca Gallery Random Image displays the detail image in Phoca Gallery Component, so it needs a component Itemid, Component Itemid is created only in case there is some menu link to component...
If SEF is enabled and:
there is a menu link to component view - categories or category view, then the module will find this menu link and will use it because of getting all the parameters from the module, if not then there is a problem with creating menu link if SEF is enabled (if SEF is disabled, everything is ok)
e.g.:
/media/videos/3-video/detail/6-greyfilmreel?tmpl=component (SUCCESS)
URL in Random Module: /component/phocagallery/3-video/detail/6-greyfilmreel?tmpl=component&detail=0&buttons=1(FAIL)
this should be not created: /component/phocagallery/ ... but this should be created: /media/videos/ in case Phoca Gallery Module find the menu link of component
so, it should be:
/media/videos/3-video/detail/6-greyfilmreel?tmpl=component (SUCCESS)
URL in Random Module: /media/videos/3-video/detail/6-greyfilmreel?tmpl=component&detail=0&buttons=1(FAIL)
It should take the link from: categories view menu link or category view menu link ... in this case, e.g. module find the Itemid of menu link to categories view and add this Itemid to the link which is created in module... then JRoute method should take the settings from found menu link
see demo:
https://www.phoca.cz/phocagallery/demo/ ... it allways take the menu link URL but why it doesn't work on some servers, still no idea

Re: SEF & Module still not working
Got it working!
Here's what I think is happening...
I only had two specific Category Layout menu items for my two individual galleries (photos and video links).
When creating links to the full image, the Random Image Module seems to look for Itemid in the menu but seems to mistake the category ID for the Itemid. And since there were only two categories on my site, the Module would only display the two images with the same ID. All other images created a generic link that didn't work.
Solution
Create a menu called Hidden and create a new menu link using the Phoca Gallery's Phoca Gallery Category List Layout (All Categories), so that it includes all Itemids. The Module will check this menu item for the proper Itemid and display the images properly and using SEF.
I think this method has been mentioned by Jan in a previous thread , but I should add that it doesn't work when you have individual links to single Phoca Gallery Categories. You need to have an All Categories menu item somewhere to get all ItemIds.
Thanks Jan for your help and advice!

Re: SEF & Module still not working
Yessssss!!
This was my solution!
Everything works! Just one thing.. if you unpubblish that menu item nothing will works.
You need to publish that menu item, and if you can't put it on a visible menu you can publish it on an invisible menu, it will works!
Thanx for the solution and for your help at everybody!
