Display name

Post by moriwenne »

Greetings. Very nice component you've got here, I've read the feature request and with those I can't think of anything this component won't have. Perfection. Good job.

Here's a simple question and I probably already know the answer but here's to hoping that I'm wrong.

So you have the 'Display name' option on the parameters. What I'm trying to do is have a list of galleries or people and I need them to be named so you can identify them. But once you click one of them, it takes you to the pictures of the person and once inside I don't need names showing up on each of the photos. It seems that 'Display name' controls both of these places, you can't just disable the name for the images.
Is there a display name for the category and a display name for the images? Or are they both controlled by the same?

Thanks.

bad luck... the naming is different for the category view and the categories view. But when you enable display name for the category view then there's no difference between folders an thumbs :(

What you can do (if you have only 1 layer of folders) is to display them in the categories view (with name) and display the thumbs without names.

Carolien (who was having with the same problem)

Hmm category view doesn't suit my purposes but thanks for the idea. I guess I should something as simple as this to the features, maybe the devs will think it worthy. In the meantime I'm going to have to 'hack' the thing by deleting the names and using a space. The problem with that is that when you are listing in the admin you dont get the name to click, but oh well.

Just a bump to let the developers and Jan know that I have the same problem! This should definitively be solved in next version if possible.
