Phoca Download - Hide direct link to the File

I've been using the this plugin for a while in Joomla, but there has been a new requirement where the direct link to the file shouldn't be visible. Just when i click/hover on the file, no URL to the file should be visible. Just based on the Access level, the file should be downloaded. And NO direct link to the file be visible to any users

I've Uploaded a file and Made them visible to all registered user, on my Home Page. The File has a direct link available like www. example.com/phocadownload/userupload/filename.zip to the end-user. The problem is, the file can be downloaded by anyone who has the direct link to the file. So, Is there a way to hide the direct link to the file OR even if anyone has the direct link to the file shouldn't be able to download it.

I don't think i fully understand your question.

Can't you just turn direct linking off?
Then visitors will not be able to see the direct link.

Hi, see similar posts in this forum:

- you can hash the files
- you can prevent from accessing the folder by .htaccess
- you can set the download folder behind public_html so it will be not accessible per direct link
- ...
