How to display low resolution version of pic in IMAGE VIEW?

Hello,

We are using phoca gallery 3.2.3 and would like to know how I can reach that the gallery image in "Detail View Settings" is displayed in a lower resolution as the original uploaded picture?
We are using Phoca Gallery for our monthly picture competition and users upload their pictures with 1MB - 3MB but due to copyright issues we do not want the gallery images to be displayed as the original image, otherwise any visitor to our website can download the original image.
We had Phoca Gallery (an older version) on our old website before and there the gallery automatically only displayed a lower resolution of the original image as the detailed image view in the gallery. But I do not find where to set this up.
Any help is highly appreciated!

(example of our galley: www. redsea-divingsafari.com/competition/photo-competition/category/11-april-2013 - if you click on a picture, it's the original size but we need it to be in a lower res).

Hello Jan,
thank you for your reply.
I came across this article, but understood it to be only for the thumbnails which display the pictures all on one page, not for the image that enlarges when you click on one of those thumbnails.
Before I start to make the mentioned changes - could you be so kind to confirm that this article is about resizing the picture which is coming out as a pop-up from it's normal size to a lower resolution?
sorry for being a pain, but our website is online and I'd rather ask twice then creating a mess

Hi, not sure what you mean with "pictures which is comming out as a popup"

These are all thumbnails - small, medium, large (popup) - you can resize them to be larger or smaller
