Redirect Page when file is not found

Post by Katzengreis30 »

First of all sorry for my bad english ;-)

I need you help...

I am only using Phoca Download on Joomla 2.5.11 to insert by Phoca-Button the download files into the content.

So when I insert a Link with Phoca-Download-Button in the content and the file is in the frontend not founded, it shows me a system message in top of the page. BUT it displays also all availble Links in this redirected-Page.

Is it possible that the Link-List of the Phocafiles ist NOT displayed, when a file is not found?

Greetings

Hi, not sure what you mean with "not founded". Which system message you get exactly? Did you install the component and both plugins (conent and editor)?

Hi Jan, thanks for you answer :-)

I installed Phoca Download Component, Content Plugin and Editor Plugin.

it is all active but i only use the Download-Plugin for pdf-files in Content for the frontend. I didnt show an extra download-area in frontend with Phoca-Component.

The Error-Message is: "Fehler beim Herunterladen der Datei. Datei auf Server nicht gefunden", when a link is failed or broken. this works right and this will be ok.
But...;-)) And it shows me in the bottom of this message a list of all files of this category which are able to download.

but i dont want this. so, is it possible that it only shows the error message WITHOUT the list of download-files?

Greetings and thanks :-)

Hi, this means, you are creating a link to category view, you can set the the link will link directly to file, then no category view will be displayed - in case you get an error, maybe this can be caused by SEF problems - see:

Hi Jan,

Thanks for you answer :-) but this is not what in mean...

so, i try to describe it better :(

- I am creating NOT a link to category view

- I am creating ONLY links directly to file in content.

- And when a link is broken (for example: the file switched in another directory or i renamed the file without changing this in link), then the category view will be automatical displayed under the The Error-Message!

So, is there a way to hide the category list view? I only want to show the error-message.
It seems to me that phoca download makes a redirect in this case to catigory-view automaticly.

greetings

Hi, now I know what you mean, no there is no such option - download is a part of category view - so every download ends in category view - if the download is successfull, then you will not know it as only the file will be directly download by the browser - in case it is not successfull, then you get this error message - but it is a part of category view, to change the download to file view, this needs to be customized (to know why it is in category view - because the file view is not used as default and it is not used on every page)
