Need help with Zoo plugin for PhocaPDF

Post by connectr »

Hi guys,
I've created a Zoo plugin for PhocaPDF, based on the EasyBlog plugin by StackIdeas.

The plugin installs fine, but then we ran into an issue, which required a change to PhocaPDF. This issue was found (and subsequently fixed) by Mark from the StackIdeas team.

At line 136 of /home/yoo/public_html/dev/administrator/components/com_phocapdf/helpers/phocapdfrender.php, Mark added this:

$dispatcher    = &JDispatcher::getInstance();
JPluginHelper::importPlugin('phocapdf');

After that change, the plugin then works if you go to url.com/?format=phocapdf - so we're definitely a step closer.

The issue I've run into now is the customization options aren't showing up in the PhocaPDF admin. I can see a tab for Zoo below the Content tab, but the contents of the Zoo tab simply reads:

"Plugin doesn't exist or there is no plugin installed"

I've checked the plugin and it is actually published, so I can only image the issue lies somewhere else.

I've uploaded a copy of the plugin to my box account, in case you guys want to take a peek.
https://www.box.com/s/2de941385a50b1927324

The development is being sponsored by Yoolingua.com and they're planning on contributing the plugin back to the Phoca Community once we have it all working nicely.

We've got our development site online, with Zoo and PhocaPDF setup, so if you need a testing environment, simply get in touch and I'll send you all the logins :)

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

1)
At line 136 of /home/yoo/public_html/dev/administrator/components/com_phocapdf/helpers/phocapdfrender.php, Mark added this:

$dispatcher = &JDispatcher::getInstance();
JPluginHelper::importPlugin('phocapdf');

Added to feature request list.

2) Did you check if the plugin includes correct formats (plugin name, xml, etc.) to work properly in Joomla! - in fact this is a Joomla! plugin, so should include all the standards for Joomla! :idea:

Hi there,

I'm interested to know if connectr ever got his zoo plugin working.

As a new registrant I'm unable to use the forum messaging system otherwise I would have attempted to contact him directly.

Jan, would it be possible for you to email connectr on my behalf asking him to contact me at my registered email address?
Sorry for the imposition but I would very much like to get a working PDF output for the popular Zoo CMK.

Thanks very much for your time.

Hi Jan and Misterman,
Im also interested on using PhocaPDF for ZOO. in which as of now, I dont think zoo has PDF button to convert items/content.
I been trying also to look for a solution to this and phocaPDF might have a better chance for work around.
Can you update me with your development.
cheers.

Hi Uroatienza,
Sadly I haven't heard from the original poster and have made no headway myself.
I'm surprised that PhocaPDF doesn't support Yootheme's ZOO given that it is one of the most popular CCK's for Joomla.
Guess we'll have to wait until some enterprising soul recognises the potential for making some money and develops something new.

In the meantime if you do find anything suitable please do let me know.
Thanks and good luck.
