Installation error Warning: zip_entry_read()

Post by pcwitchdoctor »

I've tried installing the module a few times now but I keep getting the following message repeated 4 times each time I install the module.

Warning: zip_entry_read() [function.zip-entry-read]: The bytes parameter must greater then zero in /home/badc/domains/street-racers.info/public_html/libraries/joomla/filesystem/archive/zip.php on line 239

Hi, maybe some files are missed in your joomla installation, maybe there is some problem in some zip function on your server, maybe try to download the zip again, maybe it is corrupted ???

Yeah, maybe. But more likely it's a problem with your component, as there is more than one installation having the same problem.

The Zip is created in Windows XP, for me and for thousands of users it works. The installation XML file is the standard Joomla! 1.5 installation file. So I have no idea where can be the problem on your server :(

You said it was corrupted, not me:

Besides, as I said in one of the other post about problems I'm having with this component, I've removed it from my system. I'm not he only one that is having problems.

1. Install Problems
2. Can't download rar files
3. Doesn't support resumes.

By the way, if you're not interested in hearing about the problems with this module, then don't call it a beta. And next time, don't be so rude to people that are trying to help you develope this module.

I didn't say it was corrupted. I said: maybe try to download the zip again, maybe it is corrupted and it should mean: maybe the zip file which you have downloaded was corrupted while downloading

I am not rude to people which help me (see the forum)... In this topic there is no such opinion... You said, the RAR is not working, so I did following actions:

- registered on xxx site for getting RAR software
- downloaded this rar software
- installed this rar software
- made a rar file
- added this rar file into a download site :
https://www.phoca.cz/documentation/index ... -component
- found in google the rar mime type
- added this rar mime type into Phoca Download Settings
- copied the link to this site
- displayed this link for you that you know how to add RAR file
viewtopic.php?f=31&t=1469&p=8987#p8987
and added other information - EVERYTHING WITHOUT ANY FEE, IN MY FREETIME

So do you think, this process was rude ???
