Problem saving Options

Post by Rutger »

Dear all,

History:
Failed upgrade from Joomla! 2.5.14 -> 3.x. This caused a non working website, Frontend and backend. After restoring with Akeeba it seems that there are 3.x files left behind in the Joomla! folders. Very hard to determine where though.

I have everything back working except Akeeba itself and PhocaGallery.

My thumbnail creation status is disabled. I want to enable it, or save in the option menu then I get an error:

Phoca:
Optiion -> Enable Thumbnail creation

Code: Select all

"yes": Call to a member function update() on a non-object in /httpd.www/libraries/joomla/table/nested.php on line 702
I have no clue how to solve this. I have the latest update of PhocaGallery installed (without problems).

Anyone can help me out?

Hi, really no idea what can be wrong, I think, some joomla feature which saves the component parameters will be damaged, so I think the core joomla needs to be reinstalled

Well,

I have done a full restore and an update to the latest version. I have done everything to make it work.

The only option I have left is to delete all the Joomla! files, and re-run the last working Akeeba backup, in the hope all comes back. But I feel that a risky move.

Goodday,

The issue has been solved in the end. The solution was to entirely delete the current Joomla! installation. After that is cleaned up the database. Followed by a restore with Akeeba. I also dropped all the SQL tabled and rebuild them.

Then checked the installation and extension within the backend. I managed to update al components including phoca. After that the test of course, saving the options succeeded now.

So it looks like all is well.
