modify Plugin "phocadownload" (update-problem)

Hello,
what is the best way to modify the Plugin "phocadownload"?
The Problem is, when I modified the Plugin, after the update there is corrupt.

i want to duplicate the phoca download plugin. In the duplicated plugin, i want to modify some of the sourcecode.
After modify, the original plugin would be uninstall. What must to do, that the new modified plugin would not update from Phoca?

Hi, you need to store your modified files and after updgrade you should copy the files back (and find out which changes were done in other parts in case, there will be some incompatibility)
