I recently upgraded Phoca Gallery to the 1.8.8 version. I also upgraded Joomla to 1.5.6 a couple of days later.
Originally, I had had the category links display in the lefthand column as a combination of menu names and images. (Used on http://www.edlastein.com, which has only just gone live.) After the upgrades this is no longer the case, only the textual links remain. How can I get those images back as menu links?
Thanks for your help!

I did do that already... all the menu items originally came up as links to 404s... when I resaved the links were back and the gallery part of it was back... just not those menu images.
When in the Menu Item Edit area, the image is still selected under Parameters (System). I tried removing it then putting it back, but that didn't help. I also tried recreating a menu item from scratch--that didn't do it either. I just can't figure it
Maybe there's something I'm missing in this new version... how would one add images into the lefthand menu? I was looking for those instructions in the forum in case I missed something, but couldn't find them--"images" and "menu" were seen as too common and would not bring up results.
Thanks!

Re: Menu image no longer displays
please let me know exactly what you mean with images for the menu links ?
if you mean the image which should be displayed in the menu link, then it is not a part of Phoca Gallery but of Menu Manager in Joomla! ???

Re: Menu image no longer displays
My left menu items are set up as "Phoca Gallery Category Layout" type. This is a Phoca addition, so it comes under Phoca setup in some way.
I believe the image setting comes under the Categories View Settings (Category List), which is a part of the setup that Phoca adds, as well as making sure that the image name is set under Parameters(System). The settings I have in the Categories View Settings section are:
Number of Columns: 1
Display image beside the category name: Show
Image size beside the category name: Small with Shadow.
Changing any of these settings does not seem to have any effect anywhere.
My original layout had a column of images in the lefhand menu, with the name of each category next to them (but the column is narrow enough that it forced them under the images, which was what I wanted). Both image and category name were linked to the particular category. When I upgraded, which as your directions state forces everything back to defaults, the images were gone. I want to know what settings to change to have them display again.
Hopefully this explains it better.

Re: Menu image no longer displays
With upgrade very files will be overwritten, so if you have done some changes in some of Phoca Gallery file, it is overwritten while upgrading (while upgrading database, images in the folder are not deleted), so you should add your old changed file from your backup to to Phoca Gallery (if you have done some changes) ... If you get no changes after setting parameters in Parameters Component (in Menu link to gallery) then there is some problem with parameters on the site ???
