Hi There!
First of all compliments to Jan for an excellent product!
I upgraded to Joomla! 3.2.0 and added some directories and wanted to add some download rights. Unfortunately, it looks like the new Joomla changed something.
Looking at the "phocadownload_licenses" table I see rights are set correct for older directories I made but in the new records in this table it says 'Array' and no data is kept when entered into the corresponding fields in the phocadownload directory. Saving and opening shows empty fields again for the rights.
Also I tried to use "user groups" rather then "users" since I have a large number of users with individual rights. Unfortunately when selecting users in the rights of the directory, I only see "users" and no "user groups". (applicable for both the previous and the 3.2.0. version of Joomla)
Thanks,
Jos

Hi, which Phoca Download version you are running. Problems you described were solved in version 3.0.3 (Phoca Download version)

Re: Issue with rights in Joomla! 3.2.0
Hi Jan,
Sorry for not getting back earlier... busy, busy. Anyway, I upgraded to the latest version and indeed the issue with entering the rights in the categories was solved. However, I can still not assign rights to any groups. With 80 users in 7 groups, group control would be so much easier. Looking at this excellent tool, I can not imagine you overlooked the benefit of groups versus single users so I fear I still overlook something in either the settings or the documentations. Any hints?
Kind regards,
Jos

Hi, not sure what exactly do you mean? In Phoca Download, you can assign access rights for groups (files and categories). In categories you can be more detailed about rights, you can add access rights for groups but for each user too.

Re: Issue with rights in Joomla! 3.2.0
Hi Jan,
- I created a number of users that should have access to specific categories
- I created a user group and made these people member of this user group
- I open the PD Catergory and go to "Access Right"
- I see the individual user I created but not the Group
- I moved the group around, sub-group of "registred" , in the root etc. but same result; this group or any other group does not show in the pull-down of "Access Rights" in the Catagory.[/list]
> I did purge cache just to make sure
> I closed the Category and reopened it to refresh it
I hope this makes things more clear,
Thanks for your efforts,
Jos

Hi,
Groups are displayed in Access field
Users are displayed in Access Rights field.
See image:
Don't forget to set access levels for the group in Joomla! user administration.
