Main menu not showing when multilanguage

Hi,
In use J3.2.3 and Phoca Downloada 3.0.3
My web is Spanish-English. I intend to manage a small collection of pdfs with phoca. I configured 4 sample categories. This collection is for registered users only, so I created a menu item which comes up only when you are logged in (both for EN and ES (associated as required)). The menu item displays all 4 categories available. This is ok for both languages. So far so good. But, when I click in a category in order to browse its documents, then the web's main menu disappears, both for English and Spanish. Surprisingly, if I set the menu item as public access the main menu will remain even when I click in an individual category.
¿Any idea what is happening and how could I sort this out?

Hi, I think, this is more a joomla.org forum question than phoca - when a main menu disappears, this is a feature of joomla and menu link and module parameters - so the settings should be done there
