Re: Delete uploaded files
Sorry, I found the answer here. It was a button at the top right of my Phoca Download screen, called "Options".

Re: Delete uploaded files
Sorry, but why is it not supported to delete a file in the upload view of phocadownload?
The files are already displayed and so there could be a function provided to delete it there.
Actually I have to
- change settings to delete file on deleting an entry (okay, only one time)
- create a dummy entry (for each file not assigned)
- assigne the file
- delete the dummy entry
If I delete an existing entry and create a new for each file, I will loose old
references in articles representing a web page. The other solution with FTP
would mean I have to give FTP access to a site manager. So a site manager
would be able to destroy the whole Joomla installation.
One solution could be an icon with red cross in front or behind each filename with
security check popup to prevent accident deleting. Actually I have give site managers
access to FTP where they could destroy the whole installation. I only want them to be
able to delete a file uploaded to phocadownload folder.
What do you think?

Re: Delete uploaded files
Hi, sorry, I don't understand.
- if you delete the file, it can be deleted from the server (if set in parameters)
- you can overwrite the files - if you upload new file, this can replace the one obsolete.
Anyway see similar posts where I have explained, that parameters and features are limited (you cannot have thousands of parameters or features as then the server will end with loading options and there will be no memory for running the main feature)
Anyway, I have added it to feature request list, so I can think about if and how to implement it.
Thank you for the idea.

Re: Delete uploaded files
@Jan
Thank you for your answer and for adding the feature request.
I know how I can delete files associated with a phoca file entry and how to replace files by overwrite through uploading.
But there are other user cases that are a bit complicated from my point of view.
Basic Problem: Site manager is not allowed to access via ftp.
Use case 1
I uploaded the wrong file and want to delete it.
Workaround: Asign a dummy phoca file entry and delete the phoca file entry.
Use case 2
I have a phoca file entry and want to upload and asign a file named different. I can't delete the old entry because it is referenced somewhere.
Workaround 1 (if I don't need a different name): Rename the file on hard disk and upload with the same name.
Workaround 2 (if I need a different name): Upload new file, asign to old phoca file entry, create dummy phoca file entry, asign old file, delete phoca file entry.
I would prefer to use phoca download component to delete uploaded files directly where I can upload.
Checking if the file is referenced somewhere is nice to have.

Re: Delete uploaded files
Hi, you can add it there so we can see if it will be voted.
Anyway thank you for the description.
Jan
What you mean with site manager. E.g. Phoca Commander which is file manager can access the files by script or ftp (depends on settings in Joomla! Global Configuration - so e.g. in Joomla! 3, files can be managed by Phoca Commander, yes of course, we are in admin)Basic Problem: Site manager is not allowed to access via ftp.
Anyway thank you for the description.

Re: Delete uploaded files
Site manager is the access right I asign to a user in backend. I gave right to manage phoca galleries and downloads in joomla 3.2. So maybe Phoca Commander is a solution.
I will have a look at Phoca Commander and add the feature request vote. Thank you.
