Thank you -
it's good to hear there is a workaround. I would not call it a solution though, as it is all but straight forward for the average joomla user.
Best wishes, birdie

Hi,
unfortunately, this does not work for me. I tried all the options mentioned in the previous posts, but: as soon as SEF is switched on, I get the 404 resource error. If SEF is switched off, everything works properly. I am confused, it all worked fine WITH SEF On before
- I upgraded to J1.5.7
- I installed the latest Phoca updates.
I like the random image module very much, but switching of the SEF should not be an appropriate solution.

Hi, there were some security changes in 1.5.7, maybe this can cause problems with SEF

Yes, the 1.5.7 was intended to solve some security issues. To avoid this curious category thing, why not just changing that parameter instead of category id to point to the information of the relative or absolute path to the resource folder. That might be somehow old fashioned, but it works in various other gallery tools without problems...?
I have another minor issue: in IE7 the display of the random gallery module does not remain fix, but somehow flows some px to the left and back to the right. In FF 3 everything is fine...

This Works!!!. I was having same problem with module and SEF. Everything worked fine with the menu link to the category, but when you clicked an image in the module, you go to module and if you click an image in module, you get not found error.
By adding a hidden menu link to ALL CATEGORIES, I fixed the problem. Thanks for this solution.

Solution
Create a menu called Hidden and create a new menu link using the Phoca Gallery's Phoca Gallery Category List Layout (All Categories), so that it includes all Itemids. The Module will check this menu item for the proper Itemid and display the images properly and using SEF.
I think this method has been mentioned by Jan in a previous thread , but I should add that it doesn't work when you have individual links to single Phoca Gallery Categories. You need to have an All Categories menu item somewhere to get all ItemIds.
Thanks Jan for your help and advice!
