Hi, unfortunately I don't know anyone who will be able to implement the obsolete solution - Highslide - into Joomla 4, the problem is, it is just not responsive, etc.
So the solution can be to find someone who will implement it or someone who someone will design current method so it looks like Highslide

Re: Phoca Gallery Plugin not working on Joomla 4
Hi Jan,
Just wondering if you have any thoughts about the different options for the default display – Bootstrap, Standard, No popup, Magnific, Photoswipe - appearing to make no difference to the display. No way to display the added free text description. (Pics on previous posting).
Also, currently no way to offer downloading of the full-size file.
Many thanks
Hugh

Hi, for now, the plugin is really simple and there are no such options like there were in obsolte plugins (no specific methods, no download, etc.)

Re: Phoca Gallery Plugin not working on Joomla 4
Hi Jan,
(Sorry - I had missed seeing your reply of 28 August as it was on a 2nd page - hence my post yesterday).
Would you be able to make the freetext description available on the detail view please? That at least would be a great improvement. The filename is already displayed, of course, but I have vital freetext descriptions on nearly all my 12,000 pics on my Virtual Museum website, and they are of key importance.
Kind regards
Hugh

Re: Phoca Gallery Plugin not working on Joomla 4
Hi Jan,
Thanks for this.
One can add free text descriptions to all images in Phoca Gallery. I use these to give information on what is in many of my 12,000 pics on the Virtual Museum (https://www.hungerfordvirtualmuseum.co.uk/)
In Joomla3, using HighslideJS (Image only) for the Detail View setting, I call the plugin by {phocagallery view=category|categoryid=nnn|highslidedescription=3}. The layout of the thumbnails is perfect, and when I click an image to show the detail view, the filename AND the free text description are displayed perfectly.
Furthermore, in the thumbnail view, the "Image download" icon allows users to download the full-size file (which is an advantage, but maybe not vital).
In Joomla4, currently the display of the thumbnails is a bit messy, selecting Bootstrap, Standard, No popup, Magnific, Photoswipe appears to make no difference to the detail display. There are two problems - the detail view distorts images that are not standard landscape images, and most importantly, I seem unable to get the free text descriptions to show.
Kind regards
Hugh

Hi, thank you for your info, then some new popup method needs to be found. For now, I see the best popup should be Photoswipe, do you get problems with Photoswipe?

Re: Phoca Gallery Plugin not working on Joomla 4
Hi Jan
Thank you very much for spending time on this issue.
I have today installed Phoca Gallery 4.5.1 and the final (non-beta) Phoca Gallery Plugin 4.5.1.
However, I can't see that they have made any difference to the problem I am having. It seems that whatever "Detail View Settings" I select (including Photoswipe), it makes no difference to the detail popup view, which currently shows a larger image and the filename - but no free text. (On tablets and smartphones one can double click that popup image to expand it further - but on a PC it reverts to the main article).
Am I the only person who is finding that selecting the various Detail View Settings seems to make no difference to the popup?
Look forward to hearing!
Kind regards
Hugh

Yes Jan,
It's my current Joomla4 sandbox - https://new.hungerfordvirtualmuseum.co.uk/
Try looking (for example) at Places / Bridge Street Properties / 2 Bridge Street and scroll down to the Photo Gallery. (A high percentage of the 1,650+ pages have such Photo Galleries, covering 12,000+ photos).
Many thanks
Hugh
