I see it makes sense, maybe a future update that you can set a download limit to a category?

Hi, not sure if this can solve anything - as there you still must decide, if anonymous will be count or not (if yes, then the statistics does not tell anything and it does not matter if it is limited for category or for whole component)

For me it would make a big difference.

1 Category for everyone(half a newspaper) and 1 category for the paying clients(Full Newspaper). Paying clients download is restricted to 3 downloads per file and the public category can be download as much as you want

Ok, but maybe this needs to somehow applied to each category, this cannot be set for whole component I will try to think about how this could be solved but for now really no idea when I will find time for taking a look at it
