major headaches uploading to server!

Post by fish »

hi

after getting my site done in MAMP, i've been having an incredibly hard time getting Phoca gallery to work properly.
the slimbox and modal pop ups don't function (images just open in a regular web page.

i have been over and over this and have uninstalled/re-installed Phoca gallery after deleting all my images.
my server is Dreamhost, and they have everything in place (ie Joomla install, MySQL, PHP etc)

is there something weird i need to know?
sorry, but i'm just learning backend database stuff.
i really need to get the site online, and it's becoming really difficult!

please help!!
thanks

okay, i've nailed it down a bit more: the slimbox pop-up does not come up. the images just open in a browser parent window.
could it be because i added a "stip tags" tag in the default.php file code?
i wanted descriptions to show up in slimbox.
it worked great in MAMP, but once i uploaded to my server, it didn't work.
i created a gallery for videos, and they look/work great with modal pop-up box.

however, i created a new photo gallery and not only does the slimbox not pop up, but on the gallery page i also have an 'upload' dialog at the bottom of the page and lots of annoying icons on each thumb image in the gallery.

VERY weird. the video gallery is clean and looks great!

HELP!!!!

Hi, the popup are mostly displayed with javascript so maybe you have some conlflict with other javascript library or some code was strip (I really don't know which changes you have made for the default.php, so cannot say :-( )

okay, understand the annoying icons.
they are only for admin purposes.

BUT, 'slimbox' simply doesn't work on my server.
'lightbox' and 'modal' work fine.

any ideas?

the only change i made to the default.php file was as per this post:

like i say, it works great in MAMP on my localhost.

Hi, if this is not set in parameters, then you need to set in css.

still cannot change the description font size in the Shadowbox pop-up!
where do have to do that?
changing it in its menu parameters does NOTHING.

the font is too large for small laptop screens and the description gets cut off.
can't chnage the description area size either!
and i still can't get Slimbox to work at all.

any ideas?

thanks

Hi, then you need to set it somewhere in shadowbox css or js (didn't do such modifications, so no experiences there :-( )

components/com_phocagallery/assets/js/shadowbox/
