Pdf file corrupted after downloading

Hallo.
I'm using Joomla 1.5 and Phoca Download 1.3.7, I'm finding problems after the download of some pdf files. I have 2 sections, the first with only 2 pdf files, about 400 and 600 kb, the second with 15 pdf files between 90 and 130 kb. I uploaded all the file with filezilla ftp client, then organized Phoca component. Everything seems good, I can download all the files from the site, but while the 2 "big" files are correctly opened with Acrobat Reader, all the other files are corrupted and cannot be opened.
I tried to move one of these files to the other section, nothing changes. I tried several browsers, nothing changes. I tried to download the files with Filezilla, they are correctly opened. I tried several settings, filenames, without success.
Any setting I'm missing?
Thanks in advance

Hi, no idea there

Phoca Download only gives information from server to browser, the downloading is made by server -> browser way ??? Try to check to enable direct link for such files.

Hallo.
Nothing to do, only with direct link the component seems to function right. All the other options make me download a corrupted file.
Now another problem: 2 days ago I had this error message from my server for ANY FILE downloaded with Phoca Download:
500 - No valid database connection:You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ')' at line 7 SQL=select a.css_block as css_block from tech_djfacl_cssblock a where 0 < ( select count(*) from tech_djfacl_contenuti jc where (jc.css_block = a.id or jc.css_block = '999999') and (jc.id_users=62 or jc.id_group = '25') and (jc.id_category = 999999 or jc.id_category = 8 ) or jc.id_section = )
I tried the followings:
changed names to files, categories or sections
changed folders of the files on the server
changed general settings of the component
upgraded to last version 1.3.7 (already installed)
installed newely version 1.3.7 and re-created categories and sections
I have no other idea. The component has been functioning for weeks without problems before (except the one described in the other post). Last Friday I installed some other component, the only one I think can interact with Phoca Download is the plugin for Joom!Fish, I have already disinstalled without good results.
Thanks in advance.

Djfacl uninstalled, everything seems ok now!
Djfacl is a component to manage deeper acl than the standards of joomla 1.5, nut I never used it; the strange is that I installed it several months ago and then never touched it, while phoca download stopped to work 3-4 days ago...
Thanks a lot!

Hi
I'm having the same problem.
As soon as I try to download a file using a link provided by phoca download, (for a PDF file) the file is corrupted after the download
I've noticed that after the download the file is only 1k in size instead of a couple of MB normally.
Anyone else solved this problem ?
Thanks in advance

Hi, try to see similar posts in this forum, some were solved by removing different limitations on the server
