Hide Categories? Why not choose categories to display?

By default, when categories are to be displayed in an article, the plugin asks the user to choose the categories he wants to hide...
This will work fine with the existing categories, BUT if more galleries are added, their categories will be displayed in all previous articles as well, which forces one to go back and correct every single article usage.
This would be easily solved if the user only had to choose categories to display, instead of choosing categories to hide

Hi, the hide category parameter is here because e.g. of using plugins and modules or other extensions using Phoca Gallery (don't display e.g. category in categories view which work only in e.g. Phoca Restaurant Menu)
The display category parameter is planned. It is in feature request list.

Hallo Jan,
wann kann man damit rechnen, dass anzuzeigende Kategorien ausgewählt werden können?
Die Ausschließmethode ist ja wirklich nicht sehr hilfreich!

Hi, such function were added because users wanted it. It is because they wanted to use some specific images for plugin, for module, for slideshows and such have different size in compare to component.
It means in example: You have Phoca Gallery and all categories have size: 600x400 but you want use one category for slideshow with size: 900x280 and you don't want to display such size of images in component (or in plugin - depends where the parameter is used), so you will hide this category, so this is the logic of this parameter.
