pgcoolirirs plugin only working in sections (not articles)

I have recently run into a problem with the pgcooliris plugin. I use the pgcooliris plugin to display galleries in both articles and sections throughout my site. After working seemingly without any problems for a very long time, I recently noticed that my piclens galleries that were being created by pgcooliris in articles had stopped working. The piclens plugin appears in the article but no pictures are loaded at all.
If I place (copy and paste) the same pgcooliris plugin code into a section comment it works perfectly.
If I used the phoca 3d menu entry for the same galleries, they also work.
I like using the plugin because I can make the piclens background transparent (which I don't think you can do in the menu option).
I have recreated the rss files through the phoca gallery admin and have disabled and re-enabled the pgcooliris plugin as well just in case there was any issue with the feed.
Has anyone else experienced this?

no experiences there, did you ask the pgcooliris plugin developer?
