disable marker 'balloon'

I'm trying to find a way to disable the ability to click the marker.

I really don't need the pop up balloon when the marker is clicked.

Is there a way to do this?

Hi, no experiences there, I think this needs to be modified in the javascript (if there is such option in Google Maps API)
