choosing multiple load option choosing some files not all

Hi: I'm trying to upload multiple files to my phoca gallery when I do it tries to load the entire file which is very large as in several 1000 photos... some of these files will need to be resized to work.. what I am attempting to do is just load the proper sized ones for now and go back and resize the larger images.... if I can't do this in the java uploader in version 2.7 I will need specific instructions how to do it in FTP I guess not really a teckie by any means.... if there are other options II'd love to hear from any of you that can help me with this issue.
