Phoca T Slideshow image size not working

Post by nuwara »

I installed the Phoca Image Gallery Component, the Phoca Noob Module and the Phoca T Template. I created a category and uploaded images sized 970x230 to the gallery.

I then went to The Noob Module and set the category. I set the image size to be the default of 970x230. When I go to the template and set slideshow on, the slideshow runs but the images are much smaller than the slideshow box.

I went to options and ensured my large image size was 970x230. What am I doing wrong as the images in the slideshow on the front page of the template are way smaller than 970x230...

Thanks for any help on this.

Hi,
download one of your created large thumbnails and check if it is not resized.
Kind regards,

I did that and the picture is the corrects size. I also set Slideshow = off and used one o the slideshow images and it appeared to fill the entire frame. When I switched it back to on, the pics were approx 1/4 of how they display

Hi, can I see the site where this occurs?

Check if the large thumbnails were correctly created - check the size of large thumbnails.
Check if other extension on your size does not resize images afterwards on your size (like some extensions do this through the html img parameters)

Looks like you have the same problem I had. Benno posted an answer to another question that helped me fix this.
Phoca Gallery creates a small, medium and large thumbnail of your original image to show in galleries.
The large is only 640x480px.
The Noob and Floom Modules uses the large thumbnail (of course it should have used the original, but anyways).

If you go to Components --> Phoca Galley Control Panel --> Options --> Main --> Images and Detail Window Size Settings, and change the "Large Image Width" and "Large Image Height" to 970 and 230. Then you can delete and upload your panorama pictures again and the large thumbnail will have the right size.

Afterwards I think and hope you can change back to the 640x480 so that not all new images will get the size restriction 970x230.

Recommendation to Phoca team:
The modules should absolutely use the original image instead of the large thumbnail. With this solution, my pictures don't show up correct in the image gallery.
Luckily it looks like it is possible to unpublish the category I uploaded the images to, and they still work.

Thx Brick1881!!
This solved my problem as well...
Since I'm new to the Phoca modules, I didn't understand this concept. I Thought my original photo's were used in the floom module, but the large thumbnails are used.
Thanks!
