Hi All,

I just installed Phoca Downlaod for my new J1.6 site. The problem is I can't find any of my presetted categories after clicking "categories" button in Phoca Download Control Panel and no users for user list.

Then I created a NEW category in Phoca, but this new one can't be found in Joomla's category manager. So, seems like Phoca and J1.6 can not read each other from user and category point, so far as I know.... Or there's a particular setting I missed.

Any one can help?? Thanks in advance!

Hi, try to enable debug mode and php error reporting, maybe you will get more info about the problem.

I don't think this peoblem comes from the PHP or J1.6 system. There's no error report and same problem happened when I try this component on a pure new J1.6 environment. Nothing appears in the dropdlown list from "Select Category" in Phoca component.

Hi, enabling debug mode does not mean, there is some error in php or in Joomla! 1.6 - enabling debug mode or php error reporting can display more info about possible problem (e.g. some missing table or column in databes - no matter if in 1.6 or in Phoca Download, the important is, it says more than nothing)

Mostly if something does not work like it should work, php error reporting says what this is (if there is a problem in code) or debug mode says it (if there is a problem in database)

It will be much clear if i can put screenshot in my post. I can't find this function though...

try to explain again:
1: here i have some J1.6-category, say 3 categories: J1.6-C1; J1.6-C2 and J1.6-C3. And some articles in them.
2: I install Phoca Download into J1.6
3:I goto Control panel--> Phoca download-->Categories. I find ZERO category there. Then i have to create new category just for Phoca Download, say 3 new categories: Pho-C1, Pho-C2 and Pho-C3.

What I want to know is there anyway we can synchronize Pho-Cx and J1.6-Cx? Now these 2 parts can't be used on the opposite side. Hope I explain clear enough. Thanks in advance!

No, there is no way to synchronize it, Phoca Download uses own categories not the content categories.

Hi and sorry to revive an old thread but is there a workaround for this; otherwise it would make a very useful update.
