category rights

Post by schlogo »

Hello

I wan't to do the following thing using Phoca download on joomla 1.6.6.

Users can login on my websites to download documents.

Once a user is logged in, he is redirected to the category view of Phoca

I have set up a main category called documents. Subcategories have the names of the companies and all the relevant documents arein there with access rights to the user

My problem is that the phoca main category page shows all the categories, even if the logged in user has no access to theses categories.

I don't want the customers to know other clients names ! Is there a way to just show the categories where users have access?

I my question clear? :?

Hi, sorry I don't understand? This is the way how Phoca Download works, if the category cannot be accessed by someone, he/she cannot see it in categories view  Try to recheck the category settigns.

Then check if some file in the category is not visible for users who cannot download it.

Hi,

same problem here. I have one main ("Downloads") and some sub categories ("Client A", "Client B" and so on). The main category is accessible for all registered users, the sub categories only for the corresponding client group. But, unfortunately, all sub categories shown to all users, nevertheless they are authorized to access them or not.

I re-checked all category settings, but I’m unable to figure out how to hide sub categories a user is not authorized for. Could you please help me? I don’t want to make my clients list visible for every single user.

Thanks in advance,

Hi,

I’m using J1.7 in combination with a template from YOOTheme. Everything works fine, beside this strange behavior.

Thanks,
Wolfgang

All the same....

I ve tried it all around... still the same problem, here s the full description of the issue, please someone let me know if i do something wrong ...

What i want to achieve is the following. A client comes to the site and logs in . He s redirected to the phoca main category (documents) that contains subcategories corresponding to clients names

Documents (main category)
- company 1
- company 2
- company 3

I need to show user just the category he owns. So client1 from company1 would just see the company1 subdirectory no the others in the list

Problem is, for now, client1 sees all the company directories. If he clicks on company2 or 3, he gets a message saying he has no rights to see content.

Here are the rights setup in phoca. All the users are just registered users

Documents Access : registered / Access rights : all registered users / upload right : super users / delete : super users
- company 1 Access : registered / Access rights : client1 / upload right : super users / delete : super users
- company 2 Access : registered / Access rights : client2 / upload right : super users / delete : super users
- company 3 Access : registered / Access rights : client3 / upload right : super users / delete : super users

Files access is set to registered. What s wrong?
