No category view without menu item

Hello

I wrote an article and included pictures to it with the plugin, like:

Code: Select all

{phocagalleryview=category|categoryid=23|imageid=0|limitstart=0|limitcount=2|detail=0|displayname=0|displaydetail=0|enableswitch=0|displaydownload=0}
It shows me in this case the two thumbnails but when I click on them to enlarge them, it says in the overlay: "404 - Component not found!"

So when I link this specific category to the menu with a Phoca Gallery Category Layout it works. But as soon as I remove or unpublish this menu-item the pictures in the article are not showing.

So can't I display pictures from an categories in an article which don't have an entry in the navigations? Because it is the same with sub-categories. If I linked the menu to "Category" i can use the plugin for pictures in "Category" but not for "Category --> SubCategory". They are also not showing in an article.

Thanks

Hi,

yes, there are some problems with URL creating as far as I know. It would work too, when you disable SEF.

You can make a new module, make an item within that module and set it to public. Then you go to the module manager and you set the module to inactive.

it's a workaround, but you can't see it on the front webpage

Try to see:

Question 2, the plugin should work as the module...

It worked. If anyone else has the problem:

Create a new item in the menu, e.g. separator and set it to unpublished
Then create another item as Phoca Gallery Category Layout, select the Category where your pictures you want to show in an article are in but set this one to published.

It will not show on the navigation because the main item (e.g. separator) is not Published. Unfortunately you have to create a subitem for each single category and each single subcategory you want to use anywhere else.

And if you create a link to the the categories layout (so it displays all categories - if the menu was published - then all links are created, afaik).
