Problem with blank thumbnails

My first load of uploads to the gallery went fine but now when I try and add moe photos or start a new gallery all I see in the back end is a blank thumbnail. Click on the image frontend and I get this message:

Warning: getimagesize(/home/fhlinux161/n/_ _.com/user/htdocs/images/phocagallery/thumbs/phoca_thumb_l_p1180366.jpg) [function.getimagesize]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/fhlinux161/n/_ _.com/user/htdocs/administrator/components/com_phocagallery/helpers/phocagallery.php on line 43

What am I doing wrong?

Hi,

check out on your server if the files are in the 'thumbs' folder.

If they're not there, then the thumbs aren't created. Check in the global parameters if 'thumbnails creation' is enabled.

Thanks for the reply Caroline.

Thumbnails creation is enabled and all the first batch are there but the new photos I'm uploading just appear as blanks in the thumbs folder??

When I try to upoad a file directly via 'new' in the phoca component backend I get this message:


* JFTP::login: Unable to login
* JClientHelper::setCredentialsFromRequest failed

Any suggestions? I'm stuck!

Hi,

are the thumbnails created on the server? so use a FTP-program like Filezilla to look on your server if they're there (I suppose they aren't). [your root folder]/images/phogallery/[could be a folder]/thumbs.
Does the file "phoca_thumb_l_p1180366.jpg" exist?

And check out permissions. The thumbs folder must have writing permissions...

I've never encountered the other message, but I suppose you should check your FTP settings in the general Joomla! settings.
