I'm using piclens on my main gallery, but when I added the phoca gallery plugin I can't find how to activate piclens icon on the pictures in the plugin galleries in the article.

One of the big reasons why we chose Phoca gallery was so we could use piclens in article mode, not just in the gallery. Please, don't tell me it can't be done!

Actually... I can't get a slide or "next picture" button to show when your viewing a picture either.
