I am new to phoc download and i would like to protect the files that will be uploaded in the front end. Is it possible to password protect each file that is uploaded or remove the uploads category and section from being visible in the downloads section, so when some tries to download something they wont hae access to a file that has previously been uploaded

Hi, you can protect the files from e.g. public download, but there is no such specific behaviour, to protect it after first download e.g. this needs to be customized in the code.

ok, thaqnks for the quick reply, is there a way to just remove the uploads folder from being veiwed in the downloads section

ok so when i have the phocadownload componenet installed and working on the site i can upload files perfectly (client uplaods files) and i can also add files for download (admin adding files for client to download). but when i go to the downloads section as a client, i can just hit the 'back' arrow (green) it takes me to a my downloads folder and an uploads folder, this allows the client to download files which have been uploaded by other clients... i want to avoid this....

Hi, if you are testing it, you need to clear cache of your browser to test it correctly.

If you have no upload rights you cannot access upload. It means, if your client has no upload rights he/she cannot upload and he/she has no history as you have with your admin login and cache in your browser.

The upload is only allowed for users who have rights to do.

I unddersatand that, i have the uplaod and d0pownload sections both set as registered and you need to log in to access it... i removed that so you would be able to see it. I dont think i am being clear...

my problem is that if a client with access priveliges UPLOADS a file called 'file A'. then another client comes along and wants to DOWNLOAD a file he can potentially access 'FILE A' by going to downloads and hitting the back arrow until he sees the 'UPLOADS' folder and he can then download files from the UPLOAD folder... I want to remove the uploads folder from the download section...

Hi, you can set that uploaded file will be set as not authorized, in such case, nobody can download it until it will be not authorized e.g. by admin.


If every client has own folder he/she cannot access folder from other client
