Can't get download plugin working

After a day of try and error, I finally got the download component / download plugin and button plugin installed. Following the guidelines it ends up with creating the following code: {phocadownload view=file|id=1|text=TibcoFile|target=s}, what seems to be right. But when opening the article the user gets the same code on his screen. No link at all. What am i doing wrong?

Yes, phoca download + download plugin activated. The download plugin used to add line in article but it seems not to translate when showing online.

which version of component & plugin?
Do you use an extension like e.g. K2?

Another thing to check for those with current versions of both download component and download button plugin, is to ensure that the download 'content' plugin is also installed.
It makes sense when you think about it, as the button plugin is being inserted into an article.
