Best upgrade method?

Hi!
I'm currently using phoca gallery 1.8.8 and I'll like to upgrade to v2 beta, but what's the best method to upgrade? Via Ftp, or by installing by joomla and choosing upgrade?

The upgrade methode is still the same, while upgrade in Joomla, you can lost some parameters in menu links, so menu links to Phoca Gallery must be re-saved... if you will upgrade via FTP, then you must add the sql query from install.bak file into your database, e.g. via phpMyAdmin (because there are new tables too ... all sql queries except phocagallery and phocagallery_categories table should be executed)

When you upgraded, you have to go to each phocagallery menu item and save them again.
