When I create a new file and select the category, I find the category list is ordered by the creation date, not alphabetically as I have set in the Options screen. It could be that the options screen only controls how the front end displays (my front end does order the categories correctly). Is there any way to set the category ordering to alphabetical for the the category selection list inside the backend file creation screen?

Hi, testing now and works ok, have set ordering by title ascending and categories were ordered by title in frontend - (Options -> Category Ordering)

I am using Joomla 3.6 with Phoca Download version 3.12
I am unable to find the above category options.
The files currently sort by date.
I would like them to sort by filename.

Hi, not sure if I understand it correctly, but:

if you set ordering in Options, this affects only frontend. The Options are only for frontend.

In Backend, the standard Joomla! ordering feature is working, you just order the items when you click on the header of the column

I am only concerned about the front end. (for the users). I am unable to get it to sort by anything other than file date.

Duh - I think I found this (just for anyone else) {Please correct if needed} for version of Joomla 3.6

Go to Components - Phoca Download - Control Panel - click on icon Options (you can find this icon in top left corner of your Joomla! administration)

Options (Parameters) can be managed only by Super Users (Super Administrators) or you need to have rights to manage them in Joomla! Administration.

File Order -->> Title Ascending

Hi, Ok, the Options are mostly displayed in right top corner.
